7th European Symposium on Poultry Genetics

5-7 October 2011

The 7th European Symposium on Poultry Genetics took place between 5 and 7 October 2011 at Peebles Hydro in the Scottish Borders.

Organised by Working Group 3 "Breeding and Genetics" of the European Federation of the WPSA the aim of the meeting was to present ongoing research activities and provide an update of current knowledge in genetics and poultry breeding for people from universities, research institutions and industry.

In all the 6 sessions - consisting of academic and commercial speakers - were designed to emphasise the application and foster interactions between the theory and practice of poultry breeding, with one session devoted to an update in research on genetic diversity.

The organisers are grateful for generous sponsorship in support of the symposium from Aviagen, The Dutch Foundation for Promoting Poultry Science and the European Poultry Federation of WPSA Branches.
